Keith Urban has awkward moment when fan says her name is Nicole at concert

Keith Urban narrowly escaped an awkward situation during an interaction with a fan at his last concert.

Shared in a video recorded by fans TikTok, The 57-year-old country star can be heard chatting with a fan during his concert at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Friday, October 17, as part of his High and Alive tour.

“Am I not going to like your name?” Urban can be heard asking this question to the fans. He then replied, “This is Nicole.”

The crowd laughed after hearing his name, and Urban fell back and lay on stage for a few seconds. He then stood up and sidestepped the obvious reference to Nicole Kidman, asking the fan: “Did you say Nicole Richie?” he asked.

Urban then jumped into the crowd to help his fan announce her pregnancy after hearing that he and his sister had traveled from Greenville, South Carolina, where he canceled a show at the last minute to attend the Nashville concert.

The video then panned to the jumbotron and showed this fan standing next to Urban, wearing a gray jumpsuit with “Youngest Keith Urban fan” written on the front.

The hilarious fan moment came a day after Urban canceled his October 16 show in South Carolina due to a minor illness.

“Keith Urban has been advised by longtime laryngologist Dr. Gaelyn Garrett of the Vanderbilt Voice Center to cancel tonight’s performance at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C. due to laryngitis that began earlier this week,” a statement on the venue’s website read. The statement was included.

“The vocals have been rested and Dr. Garrett is optimistic he will return to the stage for his show in Nashville.”

The potentially awkward encounter comes weeks after Kidman filed for divorce from Urban on September 30.

In their divorce filing, Kidman cited “irreconcilable differences” and ongoing “marital problems” as the reason for their separation.

Kidman and Urban first met at an event in Australia in 2005 and married a year later in June 2006. They gave birth to two daughters during their marriage. Sunday Rose17 and Faith Margaret, 14. They were last seen together at a FIFA Club World Cup match in Nashville in June 2025.

Before she filed for divorce, Kidman appeared to hint at a split between herself and Urban during an interview in Vogue published Oct. 8.
