“My vote will be for the ‘Put the old regime on trial at every level’ candidate in 2028,” Jennings wrote.

On Tuesday, he appeared to blast Trump’s Venezuela policy, writing to Bluesky: “America always says ‘ok but the NEXT regime change will work,’ just like every January when I simply ‘cut carbs.'”

In 2017, the old “Danger!” Champion mocked Trump’s 11-year-old son Barron; Barron believed the photo of liberal comedian Kathy Griffin holding a prop showing the president’s bloody severed head was real after seeing it on television.

“Barron Trump saw a very long tie on a pile of expired deli meat in the dumpster. He thought it was his dad and his little heart broke,” Jennings wrote in a later-deleted post on Twitter (now called X).

Jennings initially defended the post amid backlash, writing: “The joke isn’t making fun of Barron. It’s making fun of using him as political cover.”

In 2018, Jennings poked fun at what he called a “badass MAGA grandma” in response to a social media post from a woman remembering her late disabled son, who was a fan of the iconic ’80s TV character “Alf.”

In January 2020, Jennings met with senators Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., during the Democratic primary. and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and posted: “Remember, defending champion Ken Jennings wants you to vote for Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren.”

For a long time, “Jeopardy!” Following Trebek’s death, Jennings issued an extended apology to host Alex Trebek for his past “insensitive” tweets.

“I wanted to acknowledge the fact that I’ve tweeted decidedly unartistic and insensitive things on Twitter over the years. Sometimes they worked as jokes in my head, and I was horrified to see how they read on the screen,” Jennings wrote in December 2020.

“In the past, I would often leave bad tweets just so they could be pinned down. At least that way they might prompt intelligent responses or even advocacy. Deleting them felt like whitewashing a mistake. But I think this practice may have given the impression that I stood behind every failed joke I posted here. Not at all!” he continued.

“Sometimes I said stupid things and I want to apologize to people who were (rightly!) offended. I didn’t mean to hurt anyone, but that doesn’t matter: I messed up and I’m truly sorry.”

Jennings’ latest post likely refers to the Department of Homeland Security’s response to the deadly shooting in Minneapolis. DHS has charged a woman who was shot behind the wheel of a vehicle with “domestic terrorism” by targeting an ICE agent in front of her.

Critics accuse the agent of using excessive force.
