Kerala Assembly elections: NDA heavyweights set for campaign blitz across State

A contingent of Union Ministers and national leaders are leading a series of high-profile roadshows and public rallies for BJP-led NDA candidates in Kerala on Friday (April 3). Some of the alliance’s leading faces are taking part in the campaign blitz, which aims to boost support for local candidates in key constituencies.

Senior party leader Smriti Irani is gearing up for a marathon day of campaigning, starting with a roadshow at Aruvikkara in Thiruvananthapuram in support of BJP candidate Vivek Gopan. Later, the candidate along with R. Reshmi will move to Kottarakara for a 1.5 km sightseeing tour.

Meanwhile, MP Tejasvi Surya is focusing on Mavelikara and Chirayinkeezhu constituencies. Its schedule includes a public program at Punnamoodu for candidate S. Ajimon as well as a promotional tour in Chirayinkeezhu Town for candidate BS Anoop in the evening.

Many Union Ministers are also on the ground to emphasize the regional objectives of the NDA. Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda will visit the historic Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in the capital before organizing a sightseeing tour for candidate R. Sreelekha in Vattiyurkavu later in the evening.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju will lead a roadshow in Kollam, followed by a public meeting in Kundara in the evening and a minority outreach program in Thiruvananthapuram.

Focusing on tribal affairs, Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durga Das Uikey will meet leaders in Mananthawady, followed by public programs in both Mananthawady and Sulthan Bathery.

In the northern belt, K. Annamalai, the party’s national executive member, is spearheading the campaign in Kannur. He will address a public program in Kannur for C. Raghunath, followed by a session in Azhikode for KK Vinod Kumar.
