Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the State government has “supported and will continue to support” the survivor in the actor assault case at every stage.
Speaking at the Meet the Press event organized by Kannur Press Club on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, Mr. Vijayan said that the prosecution has handled the case effectively and the decision will be subject to legal review before further action is taken.

The Chief Minister criticized UDF convener Adoor Prakash’s remarks on the decision, calling them “bizarre and against public sentiment”. He said the UDF’s stance on the government’s appeal in the case “reflects its political position”.
On actor Dileep’s allegation of conspiracy by senior police officers, Mr. Vijayan said “it is only the actor’s perception”, adding that the police acted solely on the basis of evidence.
He said he could not comment on the court allegations and clarified that the email complaint received against PT Kunjumuhammed was forwarded without delay.
Regarding the Kerala local body elections, Mr. Vijayan said the results will further strengthen the LDF. “The Front had promised development in Kannur in line with contemporary needs and had always made promises that could be fulfilled,” he said, adding that “positive changes can be expected in the Kannur Corporation this time.”
