Kerala man accused of hunting wild boar found dead after release on bail; protest erupts against Forest dept

A man arrested recently by Kerala Forest Department on charges of hunting a wild pig and selling his flesh was found dead near his house on Friday after being released on bail and triggered the protests from the local residents.

The deceased person is defined as Kanjirakkode, Vadakkan veedu’s Mithun (30). His body was found hanging from a tree on a special plot near his residence on Friday morning.

The locals held a protest against the forest department, claiming that he had been subjected to serious mental stress after the arrest of Mithun. They demanded that the body be downloaded from the tree after reaching only the collection. Wadakkanchery police came to the scene and launched more legal proceedings.

Mithun, a car driver, was arrested last Tuesday by a forest official team led by Wadakkanchery Range Forestry. The defendants were arrested after they were produced before the court and was guaranteed on Thursday.

Family members, Mithun’s release since the deeply troubled and extreme mental pressure, he said.
