In the coordinated and comprehensive attacks carried out by the US-Israel against Iran in the pre-dawn hours of Saturday, important military and nuclear-related sites within the country were targeted.
The attacks focused on what US officials described as high-value Iranian targets, which included command and control facilities of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), naval assets, and underground sites believed to be linked to Iran’s nuclear program.
Iranian air defense weapons, missile and drone launch sites and military airfields were also targeted, according to officials.
Speaking to Fox News, a senior Israeli official confirmed that Israeli forces targeted sites linked to Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
President Donald Trump confirmed Saturday afternoon that Khamenei was killed in an attack. He was among more than 40 senior Iranian security and regime officials killed in the attack, a senior Israeli official told Fox News.

“Khamenei, one of the worst people in history, is dead,” Trump wrote in his Truth Social post. “This is justice not only for the people of Iran, but also for all Great Americans and people from many countries of the world who were killed or maimed by Khamenei and his bloodthirsty gang of STUFF.”
He also claimed that the IRGC was seeking immunity from the United States.

Multiple sources speaking to Fox News said that the attacks were increased due to the “target of opportunity” and that they took place during daylight hours, preserving the element of surprise in Iran. “A deliberate decision was made to accelerate the timeline,” a source said.
The operation, which Trump described from Mar-a-Lago overnight as the beginning of “major combat operations” in the region, covers multi-geographic targets in an effort to defeat Iran’s defensive capabilities.

Trump said the campaign aimed to devastate Iran’s military, dismantle its nuclear program, and called on the Iranian people to “take over” their government.
According to a US official, Tomahawk cruise missiles and unidirectional attack drones, used for the first time, were used in the first attacks of the operation called Operation Epic Fury.
