“This is a proactive warning to prepare the public for the possibility of missiles being launched against the State of Israel,” the IDF said.
Iranian media reported attacks targeting the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Intelligence Directorate, as well as attacks in central Tehran. In response to the attacks, the country closed its airspace.
An Israeli security official told Reuters that the operation had been planned for months and its timing was determined several weeks ago.
Sources in the defense establishment stated that one of the goals of the so-called ‘Judas Shield’ attacks would be to “eliminate threats to the Israeli home front, especially missile launchers and drone bases.”
US President Donald Trump confirmed that the US participated in the attacks against Iran and said to the Iranian people, “When we are done, take over the government, it will be yours.”
