Parade of ducks shut down Kwinana Freeway in Western Australia, traffic chaos ensues

An adorable family of ducks has caused traffic chaos on a busy Aussie highway.
Video from traffic cameras shows the family of two adult ducks and five ducklings waddling across the Kwinana Fwy in Canning on Friday morning as traffic allowed them to cross.
Approximately 100 vehicles stopped on the four-lane highway and a couple was seen passing ducks across.

Main Roads WA said the duck parade pushed traffic onto Leach Hwy.
Later, an accident occurred on the highway and the northbound right lanes were overturned.
A Main Roads spokesperson told NewsWire: “Main Roads is unable to confirm whether the traffic incident was caused by ducks on the highway.”

“However, Main Roads warns motorists to use extreme caution and stay in their vehicles if they encounter ducks or other wildlife when crossing busy roads.
“If you see ducks, ducklings or wildlife trying to cross the highway or road, stay in your car and call for help.
“Leave it to responders who are better equipped to safely engage in animal rescues. The safety of all road users is paramount.”
