Fearing TTE action, cool drinks vendor jumps off moving train in Kerala

A cool beverage seller jumped off a moving train and was wounded on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, after threatening legal action to travel without tickets near Tanur in the Malackpuram region of Kerala on 9 September 2025.

Ashkar of Pandimuttam in Panchayat, Nannambra, was accepted to Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital (MCH) with serious injuries.

Alappuzha-Kannur Express was asked to produce a ticket by TTE to Ashkar, who sells air drinks. When he could not do this, TTE was allegedly warned him about legal proceedings. Ashkar was later reportedly jumped off the moving train.

Ashkar, Chirakkal, was seriously injured near a culvert in Tanur and ran to a hospital in Parapanangadi. Due to the seriousness of their injuries, then shifted to Kozhikode MCH.
