King Charles expresses his ‘profound concern’ at allegations of Andrew’s conduct after Epstein file release and Buckingham Palace is ‘stand ready to support’ the police

The King has publicly expressed his ‘deep concern’ over allegations about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s behaviour.

Buckingham Palace said the monarch had said he would be ‘ready to provide support’ if police were contacted over the allegations.

Newly discovered emails in the Epstein files show the former prince sharing confidential reports and investment opportunities while working as a trade envoy in Asia in 2010 and 2011.

Andrew has long been a key figure in scrutiny over his friendship with Epstein. In 2014, the late Virginia Giuffre alleged that Andrew was sex trafficked by Epstein when she was 17, but Andrew denied this.

There are now also accusations that a second woman was trafficked to him for sex at his mansion, Royal Lodge, before he was given tea and a tour of Buckingham Palace.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: ‘The King has made clear through words and unprecedented actions his deep concern about the allegations that continue to come to light about Mr Mountbatten-Windsor’s conduct.

‘Whilst the specific allegations in question are a matter for Mr Mountbatten-Windsor to address, if Thames Valley Police contact us we are ready to support them as you would expect.

‘As already stated, His Majesty’s thoughts and sympathies have been and continue to be victims of all kinds of abuse.’

Thames Valley Police have so far not approached the palace over allegations Andrew shared secret reports regarding his role as business ambassador to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

It comes after Prince William and Kate spoke for the first time about Andrew earlier today, saying they were ‘deeply concerned’ and their ‘thoughts are focused on the victims’.

Newly found emails suggest Andrew told Epstein about his upcoming official trips to Singapore, Vietnam, Shenzhen in China and Hong Kong on October 7, 2010. Later, he was accompanied by Epstein’s business partners on these visits. BBC reported.

He appears to have forwarded them to Epstein on November 30, at least five minutes after receiving official reports about the trip from his special counsel Amit Patel.

Sources close to the King have previously said he felt he had “no choice” but to care for his “unstable” brother and wanted to “contain” him at Sandringham, palace sources said.

This was reported last week after Andrew was quickly evicted from his seven-bedroom Windsor mansion, Royal Lodge. The disgraced former prince was dragged out ‘under the cover of darkness’ last Monday night.

It is currently temporarily housed at Wood Farm on the royal estate of Sandringham in Norfolk. Andrew will then move permanently to Marsh Farm, a charming five-bedroom redbrick house also on the Sandringham estate, once renovations are completed by Easter.

Ahead of Prince William’s visit to Saudi Arabia to meet with Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, he and Kate released a statement regarding their concerns about Andrew.

Speaking to reporters in the Saudi capital Riyadh this morning, a Kensington Palace spokesman said: ‘I can confirm that the Prince and Princess of Wales are deeply concerned by the ongoing revelations. His thoughts are focused on the victims.’

The remarks echoed the King and Queen’s support for the prolific pedophile’s many victims last October.

Andrew has never expressed sympathy for the victims of his friend’s horrific crimes and is said to have even refused to sign public statements expressing the broadest support for victims of abuse.

Prince Edward was the first to break the royal silence, directly addressing Andrew’s relationship with Epstein, saying it was ‘really important to always remember the victims’.

The Duke of Edinburgh was asked ‘How are you coping’ when asked about new pedophile-related files at the World Government Summit in Dubai.

Edward told a CNN reporter on stage last Tuesday: ‘With the best of intentions in the world, I’m not sure there is an audience that is the least interested in this.

‘They all came here to listen to education, to figure out the future, but no, I think it’s really important to always remember the victims and who are the victims of all this? ‘There are so many victims in this matter.’

Last October, Buckingham Palace also said: ‘Her Majesty wishes to make it clear that her thoughts and deepest sympathies remain with the victims and survivors of all forms of abuse.’

Other information from the Epstein files showed that Andrew sent Epstein a secret briefing on Christmas Eve 2010 about investment opportunities in the reconstruction of Afghanistan’s Helmand Province, which was run by the British armed forces and financed by UK government money.

The emails contradict Andrew’s claim, made in his disastrous BBC Newsnight interview in 2019, that he broke off his friendship with the pedophile in December 2010.

Another email also disputed this claim; Andrew apparently suggested that Epstein invest in a private equity firm he had visited a week earlier on February 9, 2011.

Andrew’s titles were stripped last October and the King has since provided him with private financial support to cover his staff, living expenses and security. Royal staff have been told they don’t have to work for Andrew if they don’t feel comfortable. Sun reported.

Andrew is struggling to support himself financially, despite the £15 million sale of his former home in 2007 and the £17 million sale of his Swiss ski chalet in Verbier in 2022.

It’s not clear why he’s in such dire straits financially, but one major expense that might explain this is the multimillion-pound out-of-court settlement with the late Virginia Giuffre, who claimed she was trafficked to Andrew by Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell when she was 17, which he denies.

It turns out the Queen and King Charles had to step in with private funds to help pay for this settlement.

A friend said the 77-year-old King had been asked to expedite Andrew’s evacuation from Royal Lodge after he was appalled by his defiant brother making daily horseback rides past waiting photographers and camera crews around Windsor Great Park.

Her Majesty was pressed about Andrew by a member of the public in Essex last Thursday.

Palace sources previously told The Times: ‘The King is very aware of the feelings of the people. There is no need to be pressured to understand the mood of the nation.

‘To speed it up [Andrew] The final exit from the Royal Lodge was another nod to show that he understood this. ‘The plan made is not the plan put into effect and the King wanted that plan to be implemented as soon as possible.’

The King has faced calls to apologize in recent weeks after increasingly specific revelations about Andrew emerged in the Epstein files.

Lawyers for a second woman who claims Epstein sent her to England to have sex with Andrew at the Royal Lodge in 2010 have called on King Charles to issue a ‘real apology’.

Brad Edwards, of US law firm Edwards Henderson, said: ‘I would say to the King: why don’t you at least hear the details of the story?

‘We offer a sincere and genuine apology for the role played by Andrew and the Royal Family in this regard. This world was only possible because of Andrew himself.’

He added that the victims wanted ‘a real apology, not just a fake one’.

Andrew’s ex-wife also came under fire following the revelations in the Epstein files.

The couple divorced 30 years ago but continued to live together at the Royal Lodge. Ms Ferguson will also find new accommodation around Windsor following Andrew’s removal from the property.

Files show Peter Mandelson wearing a dressing gown with Jeffrey Epstein

Emails were found showing Epstein asking her to ‘marry me’ and asking for money. In a 2010 email, she mentions her daughter Princess Eugenie, then 19, saying: ‘Waiting for Eugenie to come back from a fucking weekend!’.

She visited Epstein with her daughters shortly after he was released from prison in 2009 after being convicted of child sex crimes in 2008.

Andrew is not the only person from the UK to send official classified information to Epstein.

Former US ambassador Peter Mandelson appears to have forewarned Epstein of a €500 billion bailout to save the struggling euro in the shadow of the Greek debt crisis in May 2010, the night before it was announced.

He is also believed to have passed on internal information to the UK government regarding the sale of public assets to raise public funds in June 2009.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has come under fire for appointing him ambassador in 2025 and this week admitted he was aware of Mandelson’s friendship with the disgraced financier before giving him the post.

Sir Keir’s private secretary Morgan McSweeney resigned yesterday over the scandal after it was revealed she had pushed for Mandelson’s appointment.

Now MPs are pressing for the release of files on the appointment of the disgraced ambassador.

This is breaking news. More to come.
