A self -proclaimed African tribe, who calls themselves as the Kubala kingdom, refuses to leave a private forest near Jedburgh in Scotland, although a Sheriff Court ordered the evacuation of the court. Kofi Offeh (calling himself as King Atehen), his partner Jean Gasho (Queen Nandi) and ASNAT (born in Kaura Taylor) from Texas claims that he was allegedly taken from his ancestors about 400 years ago. The evacuation order follows a previous instruction for the group to evacuate the camp.
The social media accounts of the “tribe” wearing traditional clothes have tens of thousands of followers on Tiktok and Facebook. Speaking at the camp on Friday, Mr. Ofeh said, “The creator of heaven and the world is the person with us. The court – the so -called court – we are not afraid of whatever.”
When asked if the group is planning to move to another place, the King, who declared himself, said: “If the creator of the heavens and the world wants us to move from this land, he will find a place to go to us.” Ms. Gasho said that they were not afraid to go to jail by saying the journalists: “We’ve already been in jail to love our children, do you think the chains scare us?”
In a previous video published by the group in Tiktok, Mr. Offeh and Mrs. Gasho can be seen by an official while serving and dancing while serving with court newspapers in the camp.
The leader of a “African tribe” living in Woods says he was “not afraid” about a court order that declares that the camp should be removed.
A sheriff on Friday has released an order to remove the Kubala Kingdom in Woodland, near Jedburgh, on the borders of Scottish for the last few weeks.
Three members of the “Kingdom”, who declared themselves, said that they had taken back the land stolen from their ancestors 400 years ago. After talking to journalists, they did not tend to leave the camp sites instead of singing and chanting.
The group consists of 36 -year -old Kofi Offeh, King Atenene, a 43 -year -old wife Jean Gasho calling Queen Nandi, and “Handmaiden” Kaura Taylor, who calls himself asnat.
Sheriff Peter Paterson, who gave orders at the Jedburgh Sharif Court on Friday morning, said he would enter into force immediately. The legal case was brought after the group ignored a previous evacuation notification, which said that they would leave their camps until 17:00 on Monday, September 8th.
During the hearing, lawyer Conner McConnell, representing landowners Mary and David Palmer, said their customers were looking for “abolition of workers on the basis of title right”.
He asked the Sheriff: “First of all, the criminals were ordered to remove their families from any bottom and any addicts with any goods and goods.
“Second, followers, followers under a separate title (land) and also (land) to prevent the occupation of the criminals seeking to seek.”
Şerif Paterson immediately entered into force and said that he was “happy to give evacuation notification”. None of the so -called kingdom was in court and had no legal representatives.
Previously, Jedburgh Assembly Member Scott Hamilton said the landowner had “no option”, but to get an order from the sheriff.
“The camper group clearly ignored my ultimate given by the Sharif on Friday (September 5th).” He said.
“This is disappointing, but I can’t say it’s not surprising when the group’s previous behavior is taken into consideration.
“As this next stage of the evacuation process emerges, can I remind people not to interact with this group?”
The spokesman of the Council of Borders said: “This week, the legal representative who moved for the wooden landowner in Jedburgh, which was occupied by three campers, was reported to leave. On September 9, 2025, at 17:00 on Monday. Three people do not comply with the notification.
