India-Pak cricket match insult to national sentiment, says Uddhav; Sena (UBT) to stage ‘sindoor’ protests

Shiv Sena (UBT) Chief Uddhav Thackeray said on Saturday, September 13, 2025, an insulting national emotions for sacrificing their lives on the borders of Indian soldiers and announced the ‘Sindoor’ protests in Maharashtra.

Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, Mr. Thackerray said that boycott the Asian Cup match between the two countries planned on Sunday, September 14, 2025 is an opportunity to convey the world’s attitude towards terrorism.

By targeting the BJP -led center, he wondered if the government would announce the Sindoor operation that the Sindoor operation had been stopped, and the expensive terrorist attack was still fresh because the wounds of the terrorist attack were still fresh.

“This cricket match is insulting national emotions. Should we play crickets with Pakistan while our soldiers sacrificed their lives at the borders?” Mr. Thacker asked.

Mr. Thacker, who hit the Union government, called the joke a joke on patriotism. He said that the boycott of the match would send a strong signal to the world about Pakistan -backed terrorism.

“This is the Shiv Sena Chief (Bal Thacker’s stand). If blood and water cannot flow together, how can cricket and blood be together?” And claimed that he was doing trade in the name of patriotism (BJP).

Mr. Thackerray said Sena (UBT) will organize protests against the match. He said that the party’s female workers would gather Sindoor (Vermilion) and send them to the Prime Minister’s office.

By referring to an old meeting between Bal Thackerray and Pakistani jacking player Javed Miandad, the Mumbai residence of the Thackeray family Matoshree, Mr. “My father told Javed Miandad to Pakistan from Pakistan to India until the terrorism moved to the cricket.”

“We should not maintain any relationship with Pakistan until terrorism does not stop.”

Sindoor operation was launched on May 7, 2025 after the expensive terrorist attack demanding the lives of 26 innocent civilians. It was a calibrated and targeted campaign by the Armed Forces to remove the terror infrastructure on the control line and in Pakistan.

In the meantime, Mr. Thacker reminded that the US’s 1980 Moscow Olympics and its allies did not join Afghanistan. In retaliation, Russia, a part of the Soviet Union, boycotted the Soviet Union and 13 Allied Countries, and did not participate in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

In the late 1979, the United States led the Summer Olympic Games boycott in Moscow to protest Afghanistan’s Soviet invasion. In total, 65 countries refused to participate in games and sent 80 countries for the athletes competition.
