Kolkata student gang rape: NCW writes to Kolkata police chief, seeks time-bound probe

The National Women’s Commission (NCW) wrote to Kalcutta Police Chief on Friday, June 27, 2025 and expressed the concerns of a university student in Kalcutta about the rape of gang and told the authorities to conduct an immediate and time -related investigation.
Women’s Rights Panel received the Cognition of Suo Motu of the Southern Calcutta incident.
“NCW President Vijaya Koşar, by expressing his deep concerns to the Kolkata Police Commissioner and immediately directed the investigation of the time, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the BNS.
“In addition, in accordance with the 396th part of the BNSS in the panel, the panel said with the need to expand the victim full medical, psychological and legal assistance to the victim with compensation.” He said.
Police, on Friday, June 27, 2025, the university student in Kolkata was allegedly raped by two elderly and former students of the Education Institute.
One officer said the three defendants were arrested in connection with the rape of gang on Thursday night.
On the evening of June 25, the incident took place when the woman went to the college and raped a room and gang within the Education Institute by three defendants.
