Kristi Noem: ‘No plans to pull out of Minnesota…’: Noem doubles down on federal operations, refuses withdrawal – The Economic Times Video

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem on Thursday was called out for making a patently false claim about whether federal immigration officials arbitrarily require Minnesota residents to provide proof of their legal status. While speaking to reporters outside the White House, Noem was asked about videos that had surfaced in Minneapolis showing federal agents asking passersby to provide proof of citizenship. “Is this a targeted practice and are you advising Americans to carry proof of citizenship?” a reporter asked Noem. “We use targeted enforcement in every case,” Noem said. “If we’re on a target and we’re doing an operation, we might have people around that criminal and ask them who they are, why they’re there, get their identity verified. That’s what we’ve always done.”
