Kylian Mbappe spotted driving modest £35,000 car despite earning staggering £12.8MILLION-a-year salary

Kylian Mbappe ditched his £2million collection of supercars at home for a modest £35,000 Mini when he was spotted in Paris on Thursday.

The 27-year-old Real Madrid star has reportedly returned to the French city to get a second opinion on a knee injury that could rule him out of the Champions League clash with Manchester City.

Mbappe, who earns £12.8 million a year, was recently spotted driving his convertible Mini Cooper S in Paris without a student permit after passing his exam.

He is believed to have cars in his collection, including a £400,000 Ferrari SF90 and a £140,000 BMW i7, but he opted for a Mini while in Paris.

Spanish media reported that Mbappe was using his spell on the sidelines to get his licence, which he said was not a priority in 2023.

‘That’s one of the disadvantages of being successful early; “I missed simple things like having a driver’s license,” he said.

‘I think everyone has one. For many people, a license is a must, but for me it wasn’t.

‘Although it is synonymous with independence, I gained my independence early because I had the drivers. “This has never been a priority.”

Mbappe was spotted outside the Le Royal Monceau hotel during his stay in Paris, racing against time to play any part in the Champions League last 16 match against City.

It has been suggested he could return in time for the second leg at the Etihad on 17 March.

However, reports in France claim that Mbappe may be away from the field for months, which will deal a big blow to head coach Alvaro Arbeloa.

The club has not set a date for his return.

“Yes, I talk to him every day,” Arbeloa said. ‘We are closely following what happened to him and how he is doing. This is a process where we will monitor how he feels every day. It’s getting better every day.’
