Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet are supported by family as the Kardashian crew rally round beleaguered couple after humiliating Oscars night and Best Actor snub

Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet were supported by loved ones after their punishing night at the 96th annual Academy Awards ended in bitter disappointment on Sunday.
Chalamet made a successful start to the awards season, winning the same category at the Critics’ Choice and Golden Globe awards, making him the favorite for the Best Actor award for his leading role in Marty Supreme.
But the actor instead found himself the butt of numerous jokes after host Conan O’Brien made a series of ill-timed and deeply dismissive comments about opera and ballet during a pre-Oscars interview.
He would later have to sit and watch as Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor for Sinners and Chalamet, 30, looked visibly disappointed as he applauded the American star.
But the actor received support from his older sister Pauline as he left Hollywood’s Dolby Theater empty-handed.
Likewise, Jenner, a stunned bystander because Chalamet’s recent abandonment of opera and ballet bothered her, was accompanied by her mother, Kris Jenner, and older half-sister, Kim Kardashian, to the Vanity Fair after-party.
Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet were supported by their loved ones on Sunday after a punishing night at the 96th annual Academy Awards that ended in bitter disappointment.
While Chalamet dominated the first season, winning Best Actor at the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards for his ping-pong drama Marty Supreme, the momentum shifted when Jordan won the Actor Awards, formerly known as the SAG Awards, earlier this month.
Further ratcheting up tensions, the Oscars came on the heels of Chalamet’s controversial comments that “nobody cares” about opera and ballet, which sparked a wave of backlash from the arts community, including legendary director Steven Spielberg.
Chalamet made this unfiltered statement while talking to Interstellar star Matthew McConaughey about his hopes for movie theater survival.
He later added in an interview with Variety’s Actors on Actors magazine: ‘I don’t want to work in ballet or opera or, you know, anything like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive,’ even though no one cares about that anymore.’
Conan O’Brien, returning as host of the Academy Awards for the second year in a row, began his opening monologue by addressing Chalamet’s controversy.
‘Security is extremely tight tonight. “I’m just going to talk about this,” O’Brien, wearing a tuxedo, told the crowd at Los Angeles’ iconic Dolby Theatre.
He later joked: ‘I’ve been told there are concerns about attacks from both the opera and ballet communities.’
The camera then quickly cut to Chalamet, who was seen smiling nervously next to his busty girlfriend.
“They’re so mad you left jazz out,” O’Brien added jokingly.

O’Brien tried and failed to make amends with Chalamet later in the night as he told the crowd that he and the Marty Supreme star were ‘on vibes.’
‘We’re shaking, aren’t we?’ asked Chalamet, whose answer was not picked up by the event’s microphones. ‘He doesn’t think so.’
When Chalamet arrived on the red carpet with a stoic expression, without his girlfriend Jenner, he was mocked before the ceremony even started.
Chalamet posed for photographers in an all-white suit and tie that clashed with massive black shades.
Fans roasted the community on X (formerly Twitter), where one grumbled: ‘He doesn’t deserve to get anywhere near the Oscars for this brutality crisis.’
Another wondered: ‘Dear sir Timmy, what inspired this monster?’ Then one observer joked that the young movie star looked like a ‘milkman’.
One described the makeover as a ‘mess’, while another saluted his romance with Jenner, saying: ‘She needs fashion lessons from the Kardashian/Jenner clan.’
