LA Tunnel Collapse LIVE: 31 trapped as rescue launched | US | News

After a large infrastructure project in Los Angeles, a dramatic rescue operation emerged late on Monday evening as the construction workers retreated to security after a tunnel collapse.

At about 20:55, at least 15 people were trapped under the underground, a handful of workers were removed from the tunnel by Crane. The Los Angeles County Sanitation Zone, an important wastewater project, a 630.5 million dollar Los Angeles Waste output tunnel collapsed during construction.

The Prime Minister Flatiron Dragados described the tunnel on the website as a 7 -mile -long, 18 -meter structure aimed at improving wastewater management in the region. The completion was targeted for 2027.

Authorities continue to work urgently to find workers who have fallen into the trap, and the communication lines are still down and access to the collapse zone is seriously limited.
