Fitness Tips for 2026 Haj Pilgrims

Hyderabad: As the first Hajj training program organized by the Telangana Haj Committee began here on Sunday, the pilgrims selected for Hajj 2026 were urged to maintain their physical fitness along with learning rituals, dress codes and rules.
In the session attended by approximately 4 thousand pilgrims, religious scholars explained the rituals, places to visit and the determined dress rules. Authorities emphasized the need for fitness, noting that the pilgrimage involves extensive walking.
Syed Naseer Ahmed, a first-time pilgrim, said the training provided clear guidance on rituals and preparations. Another participant, Hajeer, said that health and fitness were highlighted, volunteers were supportive, and officials provided useful information.
The pilgrims said they plan to attend the next session, which will include a question-answer session to clarify doubts.
Minister for Minorities Muhammad Azharuddin, who launched the programme, promised support to the government to ensure the hassle-free pilgrimage. He said all necessary facilities would be arranged and advised pilgrims to follow rules and remain patient during the journey.
Telangana Haj Committee chairman Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani announced that one inspector will be appointed for every 150 pilgrims this year, compared to 300 pilgrims earlier. Out of 11,757 applications from Telangana, 8,286 were provisionally selected for Hajj 2026.
