The inquest into his death was told that he had stopped taking medication in the days leading up to his death.

The inquest was told Mr Kingston was initially given sertraline, a drug used to treat anxiety and depression, and zopiclone, a sleeping tablet, by a GP at the Royal Mews Surgery, a practice at Buckingham Palace used by royal family staff, after he complained of difficulty sleeping.

Lady Gabriella warned during the inquest about the side effects of drugs used to treat mental health problems.

In his statement, read by Gloucestershire’s senior coroner Katy Skerrett, he said: ‘I believe anyone taking pills such as these should be made more aware of the side effects to prevent future deaths.

‘If it can happen to Tom, it can happen to anyone.’

He also said: ‘[Work] It was definitely a challenge for him over the years but I highly doubt it would lead to him taking his own life and he seemed much better.

‘The fact that he took his own life in the home of his beloved parents shows that this decision was the result of a sudden impulse.’

Coroner Katy Skerrett concluded Kingston committed suicide, saying: ‘He was suffering from the adverse effects of recently prescribed medication.’

His negative reaction to medication was said to follow a stressful period at work.

Devenport Capital Limited, the prestigious investment firm he founded, had a negative balance of £27.9 million and the final amount remaining to repay creditors was only £19.8 million, leaving a deficit of £8.1 million for debtors.

Therefore, those who are in debt will be given 71 percent of their debts.

Mr Kingston, with the support of his family, had done everything they could to support the business.

He transferred £1.6 million of his own money to Devenport Capital.

It is stated that his father, Martin Kingston, a respected and successful lawyer, owes £ 162,000 and will receive £ 115,000 of this, meaning he will lose £ 47,000.

The largest creditor was Dubai-based Christopher Chandler. He was £12.8 million in debt and will lose £3.7 million of that.

HMRC was owed £788,226 but will receive around £560,000.

Lady Gabriella met Mr Kingston through mutual friends in 2014. He previously dated Pippa Middleton, the sister of the Princess of Wales.

He proposed to her during a trip to the Isle of Sark in 2018 and she said of their courtship: ‘I’m so happy to be with someone so special; I’m very lucky.’

They married at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, in May the following year; They married in a ceremony attended by many members of the Royal Family, including the late Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

Following his death, Buckingham Palace released a statement on behalf of Lady Gabriella and the Kingston family, describing him as a ‘beloved husband, son and brother’.
