Lane Kiffin is no stranger to controversy, but the LSU head coach found himself in the spotlight again this week after sharing a social media post tagging President Donald Trump.

Kiffin has faced scrutiny before; most notably when he left Ole Miss during the Tigers’ pursuit of a national championship to take the head coaching job. However, his latest post has brought renewed attention to the outspoken coach.

On Friday, Kiffin posted a photo of two LSU-themed hats that read “Make Baton Rouge Great,” an obvious play on Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan.

The post received mixed reactions on social media, eventually leading Kiffin to delete the post and re-upload the photo, this time tagging LSU instead.

However, users responded to the new post with comments such as “The Internet remembers.”

Kiffin also addressed his previous controversy in a separate post, telling LSU and Ole Miss fans, “We can all get along.”

“Remember red and blue make purple. We can all get along,” her post read.

Kiffin signed a seven-year, $91 million contract, making him one of the richest head coaches in college football. Part of LSU’s deal to lure Kiffin away from Ole Miss was to pay the full bonus structure he received from his previous employer.
