Las Vegas for families with kids? Tourists and visitors debate the odds

Las Vegas- While tourism in Las Vegas is on the decline, with just over 3 million visitors in August, a 6.7% decline from the same period last year, the city continues to garner attention as a desirable destination. Meanwhile, families are debating whether this is a suitable place to bring their children or grandchildren on vacation.
On the “r/vegas” forum on Reddit, a traveler shared his experience visiting Vegas in January.
“Why, why, why, for the sake of the sacred love, do people bring tons of little kids to Las Vegas?” partly the person who titled the post.

“Back today after four days in Vegas,” the person wrote. “I can’t understand why these people are bringing such young children and there is absolutely nothing to do.”
Others on Reddit took to the comments section to offer ideas for family trips to Vegas with kids.

“It’s so weird walking around in the middle of the night and people are still keeping their kids outside,” one user said.
Another person wrote: “I was surprised to see so many young children and even babies walking around smoke-filled casinos, tied to their mothers.”
“This isn’t Traveler City, it’s Sin City,” said a different user.

Another user wrote: “Security used to make sure they were out of gambling areas… I don’t get it. We loved going because it was definitely more convenient there.” [toward] adults.”
Fox News Digital spoke with visitors to Sin City about their thoughts on kids visiting Vegas.

A woman named Sarah from Staten Island, New York, said she had just talked to someone about family travel.
“They tried to make it family-friendly a few years ago. There was a pirate show at Treasure Island and a volcano show at the Mirage. But I don’t think the parents were gambling,” he said.
“Good luck if they try this again. But if they want families here, they need to lower the prices,” he added.

Sarah said it didn’t bother her to see children around.
Craig, also from Staten Island, told Fox News Digital that he doesn’t mind seeing the kids.

“We all have a lot of grandchildren, so it wouldn’t bother us. I’d love to have them with us right now. They’re at school,” Craig said.
“Vegas is great for families, but the prices are getting higher and higher,” said Irene from Los Angles.

Visit Las Vegas, the city’s official travel guide site, shared a list of 31 “new and fun things” to do in Vegas with kids.
“Don’t let the spectacular nightlife, pool parties and fancy dining fool you – this could definitely be the ideal destination for your family holiday too,” the site says.
