VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol said the vehicle that hit another driver, killing a man and woman, was traveling 180 mph at the time of the crash.
Two people died in a crash in Ormond-By-The-Sea and charges were upgraded to two counts of vehicular homicide.

He was driving from Port Barrington, Illinois, with his last address in Daytona Beach, on FL-A1A/Ocean Shore Boulevard and Sandpiper Ridge Drive in March. Volusia County He crashed into an SUV while trying to cross a two-lane road, FHP said.
Scott March, of Port Barrington, Illinois, was arrested on Nov. 3 for loitering and prowling, authorities said. He was also involved in the fatal crash on Nov. 1, FHP said.
Authorities said that the accident occurred around 18:00 in an area where the speed limit is stated to be 45 miles per hour. But authorities said Nov. 12 that preliminary evidence showed March was traveling at approximately 180 miles per hour at the time of the crash. FHP said March was traveling 147 mph 5.5 seconds before the crash.
FHP said March struck the rear left side of the Jeep, causing both the driver, Thomas Richard Lauck, 72, of Ohio, and the passenger, Julia Ann Lauck, 73, to be ejected from the vehicle.

Authorities said Thomas Lauck died at the scene, and Julia Lauck was transported to the hospital in critical condition. HE died five days later on November 6.
FHP said none of the people in the Jeep were wearing seat belts.
Mart was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
