Irish presenter Laura welcomed her first child with Love Island narrator husband Iain in 2021, a daughter named Stevie Ré.

Speaking to The Standard shortly afterwards, Laura expressed her concerns about the dangers of the internet after having children.

‘Having children definitely changes your priorities and makes you more sensitive about some issues.

‘This was also something I had to pay attention to in terms of self-care.

‘It also makes me aware that when it comes to the online world and it’s changing so dramatically, I’m going to have to deal with it over the next few years and that it’s something I can’t control. It makes me hypersensitive.’

Just last year the Daily Mail revealed how Laura angered BBC bosses when she pulled out of Celebrity Apprentice at the last minute.

Big Brother host AJ Odudu has left the cast stranded after withdrawing from the show’s line-up, which also includes EastEnders star Jake Wood and JLS singer JB Gill.

The Lord Sugar spin-off was to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Apprentice; A host of famous faces have taken up the challenge of impressing the business mogul for his charity work.

But podcast host Laura couldn’t be one of them after pulling out of the BBC series due to an ‘inevitable conflict’ in her schedule.

A TV source told the Daily Mail at the time: ‘Laura has infuriated BBC bosses by withdrawing from the Celebrity Apprentice special.

‘Of course there can be a lot of last-minute changes in television, but there were only a few days left before filming was due to start and the team was pretty much left stranded.

‘Dates didn’t work out for Laura and so she backed out, but many were left in an awkward position because of her decision.’

Laura announced she will be leaving Love Island in 2022 after three years as a presenter.

At the time, he cited the ‘difficult’ elements of the series’ format as his reasons for resigning.

Before becoming a star of the small screen, Laura became the new face of MTV news in the UK, Ireland and other European countries by successfully winning her own TV competition called Pick Me MTV.
