Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, said that no innocent Indian should face harassment or inconvenience due to any law or rule and such measures should always be for the convenience of the public.

Addressing the NDA parliamentary party meeting in New Delhi, Mr Modi also said reforms should be implemented in all spheres of society, not just the economy.

Briefing reporters after the meeting attended by all NDA MPs, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that Prime Minister Modi gave very good instructions to the MPs.

The Prime Minister said that no Indian should face any hardship as a citizen and everyone should ensure that the rules and regulations are for the convenience of the people and improve their lives.

“The Prime Minister said that laws should not be a burden on anyone, they should be for the convenience of people. Rules and regulations should be for improving the system and not for harassing people. There should be no law that harasses people without any reason,” Mr. Rijiju said.

He said Mr Modi had told all NDA MPs that they should work together to accelerate development work three times and engage youth, sports and other activities.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Rijiju said Mr. Modi was congratulated on the NDA’s resounding victory in the last Bihar elections.

Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah and JP Nadda, who is also the BJP president, also attended the meeting held at the Parliament House complex here.

Mr Modi was crowned by JD(U) leader Sanjay Jha and Rashtriya Lok Morcha chief Upendra Kushwaha, both Rajya Sabha members.

The NDA won 202 seats in the 243-member Bihar Assembly, which went to polls last month, paving the way for JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar to return as chief minister for the 10th time.

Among alliance partners, BJP won 89 seats, JD(U) 85, LJP (Ram Vilas) 19, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) five and Rashtriya Lok Morcha four.
