Lawyers for Bruce Lehrmann’s rape case to argue over ‘unlawful’ phone recordings in District Court hearing

Former political staff Bruce Lehrmann’s lawyers, who face two rapes, will claim whether an important evidence obtained by Queensland police will be illegally obtained.

In October 2021, Mr. Lehrmann is accused of two rapes that the police claimed to be caused by an incident in Toowoomba in the west of Brisbane.

He did not make any objection, but he had previously said he would fight the charges.

The police claim that Mr. Lehrmann had sex with a woman twice in Garden City without consent for one night.

During the commitment hearing in June last year, the court told the court that the woman drank with friends and consumed cocaine before going to a strip club, toowoomba, and claimed that a man she met here was Bryce.

After leaving the club, the couple was allegedly having sex -based sex and consuming more cocaine.

It is claimed that the woman lost consciousness and woke up with Mr. Lehrmann without her consent and called on to stop.

The second accusation against Mr. Lehrmann claims that he had sex with the woman again without consent.

During a separate promise at the IPSWich Regional Court in June, Mrs. Burrows issued a new application that demanded that the police have recorded the allegations of illegal phone calls with Mr. Lehrmann’s lawyers.

According to the defense, a civil servant initially could not explain the four voices between himself and the former legal representative of Mr. Lehrmann, two records of the alleged victim, and six elements containing one witness.

Mrs. Burrows had previously asked the Queensland police in May to be fully announced.
