Who is Amit Paithankar? Waaree Energies CEO resigns: Know about his next venture, successor
Amit Paithankar, CEO of Waaree Energies, India’s largest ALMM-certified solar power producer, announced his resignation on Monday, according to the company’s stock exchange filing.
The company’s board of directors has accepted Paithankar’s resignation and he will be relieved of his duties from May 15, 2026, or such earlier date as may be mutually agreed upon, according to the company’s stock exchange filing.
Paithankar was serving as the company’s full-time director and chief executive officer.
He will be replaced by Jignesh Rathod, who has been appointed as the CEO candidate. Rathod was previously working as the Chief Operating Officer of the company.
Who is Amit Paithankar?
Paithankar joined Waaree in November 2024 and his tenure as CEO lasted a few days over a year. “Dr. Amit Paithankar is the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of Waaree Energies Limited. An industry veteran with over 25 years of experience in Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, IT and General Management, he has operated in various geographical regions including India, Asia Pacific, EU and USA throughout his distinguished career,” the company said in a statement while announcing his appointment.
The company’s board also thanked Paithankar for his service, saying in the exchange filing: “The Board has placed on record its deep appreciation for Mr. Paithankar’s leadership, dedication and valuable contributions during his tenure during which he strengthened the Company’s operational capabilities, expanded its footprint and established a solid foundation for long-term growth.”
Next attempt: In his resignation letter to the Company Secretary, Paithankar announced that he was resigning from his post to join a company called Saarv Solutions Private Limited as a founding partner.
Jignesh Rathod – All about Paithankar’s successor
Jignesh Rathod, who has been appointed as the designated Chief Executive Officer, assumed office from Monday and will take over the CEO role after Paithankar steps down on May 15, 2026.
According to the company, Rathod holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Gujarat University, Master’s degree in Business Administration for Working Executives from NMIMS, Mumbai, and PhD in Business Administration from XIBMS.
He has been with the company since 2007 and has “more than 18 years of extensive experience in manufacturing operations, capacity expansion, process optimization, technology integration and large-scale application.”
