Leopard Trapped, Undergoing Treatment

Erode: A leopard, which has been terrorizing farmers in Vilangombai and surrounding Kadambur forest division for the last six months, was trapped in one of the cages set up on the orders of the chief conservator of forests on Thursday.

Automatic cages have been installed in Vinoba Nagar and Gunderi Pallam dam areas under the supervision of Sathyamangalam deputy forest division director. The captured leopard was then loaded into a vehicle by forest officials.

However, it was stated that the leopard is currently under intensive treatment due to an injury to the back of its body. Forest officials said that the leopard will be released into the forest area after its treatment is completed.
