The Virginia Giuffre interview that ‘never aired’: Late Andrew accuser’s memoir reveals the moment she felt ‘defeated by the people I was trying to speak out against’

The highly sought-after first TV interview about Virginia Giuffre’s accusations against Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was ‘never aired’, the late Epstein accuser claimed in his posthumously published memoir.

Giuffre, who died by suicide in April at the age of 41, wrote in the book that she was “defeated by the very people I was trying to speak against” before King Charles stripped her brother of his titles and house last night.

In her memoir, titled Nobody’s Daughter, Giuffre noted that every major TV network “wanted to interview me” before “finally” choosing ABC.

Giuffre described how she flew from Denver to New York with her three children for an interview with journalist Amy Robach, so they could understand ‘why their mother was always on the phone or frequently leaving by plane.’

‘Probably 90 minutes of telling Robach about Epstein and [Ghislaine] “Maxwell organized the sex trafficking ring,” he wrote.

Giuffre revealed that she “told him the names of several men” she allegedly trafficked, including Andrew, and that she “cried” when recalling some of the alleged abuse.

‘There was a celebratory atmosphere in the room’ after the interview was filmed, but Giuffre wrote that excitement turned to anxiety as the film’s release was continually delayed.

“Finally, someone from the network told my legal team that the network needed to reach out to Buckingham Palace and an attorney for Epstein because I had told Robach that Prince Andrew had been trafficked,” he continued. ‘It wasn’t clear why this caused such delays… But for whatever reason the ABC never aired the interview.’

Giuffre, one of Jeffrey Epstein’s biggest accusers, died by suicide in April this year. He was 41 years old.

But the Savannah-born lawyer revealed the extent of the abuse he allegedly suffered at the hands of late pedophile Ghislaine Maxwell and Andrew in his posthumous memoir.

She claimed she was forced to have sex with Andrew three times during this time; These claims Andrew has repeatedly and vehemently denied.

Ahead of its publication, the 65-year-old disgraced Royal Family member gave up using royal titles, including Duke of York, as the memorial’s ghostwriter said Virginia would see it as a ‘triumph’.

This was especially after the setbacks he allegedly faced during his legal battles, including an ABC interview that was never aired.

Explaining what allegedly happened at the time, Giuffre claimed that all the major TV networks ‘wanted to interview me’, adding: ‘We weighed our options and ultimately chose ABC.’

He said he was a “fan of host Amy Robach,” who worked with her producer Jim Hill, “a first-rate investigative reporter.”

She shared how ABC “hired two nannies” for Alex, Tyler, and Ellie so she could prepare for the interview at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel before the interview.

The monument read ‘I’m thrilled’. ‘This could be a game changer,’ I thought.

“After years of viewing the media as my enemy, I wanted to believe that the media could also help our cause,” he said on behalf of Epstein’s accusers.

When the interview ended, “there was a celebratory atmosphere in the room,” he said.

Giuffre added: ‘When I reunited with my children that night, I told them: ‘Your mother did a good job today.

‘Then the waiting started,’ he continued, explaining that the broadcast was constantly delayed.

The monument read: ‘We lingered for weeks with no explanation for the delay.’

‘Finally someone from the network told my legal team that the network should have reached out to Buckingham Palace and a lawyer for Epstein because I had told Robach that Prince Andrew had been trafficked.

“It was unclear why this was causing such delays,” the book continued. ‘Robach and his producer were furious. ‘But for whatever reason ABC never aired the interview.’

A footnote in the harrowing memoir described the ‘hot mic’ moment in which former ABC journalist Robach was filmed saying the pedophile financier and the Firm’s lawyers were ‘putting pressure on to cancel the interview’.

In the message, ‘Robach said that his interview with me was not published and that ‘what we experienced was unreal’ and ‘I am getting more angry every day’.

‘During the recording, Robach said senior officials asked him, ‘Who is Jeffrey Epstein? Nobody knows who he is. ‘This is a stupid story,’ he said.

Giuffre also claimed ABC was “afraid of losing access to Prince William and Kate Middleton” in the future.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Robach and ABC News for comment.

At the time, Robach described the video as capturing a “particular moment of disappointment.” a statement He said: ‘I was disappointed that the interview itself was not aired, it did not meet our standards.

‘For years, no one has told me or the team to stop reporting on Jeffrey Epstein, and we have continued to aggressively pursue this important story.’

ABC News also said at the time that ‘not all of our news meets our broadcast standards.’

After Virginia's posthumous memoir was published, Andrew asked royal experts for the book to be published for him.

After the memoir was published after Virginia’s death, Andrew agreed to give up his royal titles as royal experts predicted the book would be “poisonous” to him. She is seen here with the current King Charles (front) and William at Prince Philip’s funeral.

Writing about this failure in her quest for justice against her abusers left Giuffre feeling hopeless.

‘Once again I have been defeated by the very people I tried to speak against.

‘And I couldn’t help but wonder if there was any hope for survivors like me if the efforts of a media giant like the ABC to uncover the truth were shut down.’

Giuffre would wait four years for the opportunity to tell her story on television.

When she finally sat down across from Samantha Guthrie along with five other Epstein accusers on NBC’s Dateline, Giuffre detailed how she was allegedly forced to have sex with Andrew in 2001 when she was 17 years old.

The alleged encounter reportedly took place at the London mansion of Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell after the royal gave her vodka at a nightclub.

Andrew has repeatedly and vehemently denied Guiffre’s accusations, calling them ‘false’ and ‘unfounded’ and saying any allegations of impropriety involving minors are ‘categorically untrue.’

‘He was an abuser. “He was a participant,” she told the Dateline show.

‘I was very young when I first came to London. Ghislaine woke me up in the morning and said, “Today you will meet a prince.”

‘I didn’t know at that point that I was going to be sold to a prince,’ she said.

Despite denying Giuffre’s account, Andrew settled a civil lawsuit she filed in the US for £12 million in damages, reportedly reaching out to his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, to help cover the costs. He received money from Elizabeth.

It comes after King Charles sensationally stripped Andrew, 65, of all his titles and the home where he lived with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, announcing his decision in a clinically cold tone.

The Palace pointedly added: ‘Their Royal Highnesses wish to make it clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies are with, and remain with, the victims and survivors of all forms of abuse.’

Giuffre filed a lawsuit against Andrew in August 2021, seeking unspecified damages for rape and battery, including emotional distress.

She claimed she was forced to have sex with Andrew three times when she was just 17, at the behest of the late pedophile.

This newspaper previously revealed Andrew told the Met Police to give Giuffre’s secret social security number and date of birth to the taxpayer-funded police protection officer to dig up dirt on her.

The Met is ‘actively investigating the allegations’.

Before the publication of Giuffre’s memoirs, Andrew agreed to give up his royal titles, including Duke of York.

Speaking to Newsnight afterwards, Nobody’s Daughter ghostwriter Amy Wallace said her life had been ‘tainted by her past behaviour’.

Speaking to Victoria Derbyshire about Andrew giving up his titles, Amy said: ‘I can speak for Virginia.

‘I know he will consider it a victory to be forced to give them up voluntarily by any means necessary.

‘For many, perhaps particularly in the United States, perhaps even in the United Kingdom, this is a symbolic gesture but an important one.

‘He wrote history in terms of the royal period, modern history. Seriously… I’ve never heard of something like this happening and it’s also a step in the right direction.

‘You know, Virginia wanted to be held accountable for all the men to whom she was sold against her will.

‘And he’s just one of these men, but he’s forced into it, even though he continues to deny it, his life is being eroded by his past behavior, as it should be.’

This comes after King Charles officially announced that Andrew will be stripped of the title ‘Prince’ and will be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor with immediate effect.

In a bombshell announcement, Her Majesty also confirmed that Andrew had been ‘noted’ to leave the Royal Lodge and ‘relocate to alternative private accommodation’.
