Chappell Roan defends herself after Jorginho’s sledge

American singer Chappell Roan responded to the allegations that the security guard made football player Jorginho’s daughter cry, saying that this situation “really upset” him and that he “did not deserve this”.
The Premier League footballer took to Instagram to criticize Roan after his security spoke “extremely aggressively” to his wife and daughter, who spotted the pop star at a hotel in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday.
Jorginho, 34, said his 11-year-old daughter was “extremely shaken and cried a lot” after the interaction, and also criticized the singer for not appreciating his supporters.
“Without your fans, you would be nothing.”
Roan shared a video on Instagram on Sunday addressing the incident with his nearly eight million followers.
“Today I will tell half the story about a mother and her child who had an affair with a security guard who had no personal security.
“I didn’t even see, I didn’t even see a woman and a child… nobody came to me, nobody disturbed me like I was sitting at my hotel having breakfast. I think these people were also staying at the hotel.
“So, like a security guard, I didn’t ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child.
“They didn’t come near me. They weren’t doing anything. It’s not fair from a security standpoint to assume that someone has no good intentions just because no action was taken when they have no reason to believe it.”
In the video, 28-year-old Roan lies in bed while talking.
“I don’t hate people who are fans of my music. I don’t hate kids; that’s crazy.”
“I’m sorry for the mother and the child that someone assumed something, that they thought you were going to do something, and if you feel uncomfortable, that really makes me sad. You didn’t deserve that.”
Jorginho is married to Irish singer Catherine Harding and the couple have one child.
Harding has a daughter from her previous relationship with actor Jude Law, while Jorginho has two children from his previous marriage to Natalia Leteri.
The Grammy-winning singer, whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, had previously criticized her “entitled” fans for their “creepy” behavior in a series published on TikToks in 2024, where she emphasized the need for boundaries between celebrities and their fans.
