What is the origin of Limp Bizkit’s name?

“We were actually in a room riffing right now,” the band’s lead vocalist Fred Durst tells Loud Wire, quoting his comment to KDGE 102.1FM in a 2023 article about the band’s name.
He added: “We were just trying to think of things and not always take ourselves so seriously, but we like things that are a little left of center and sometimes really interesting and corny.”

There are conflicting theories as to where the name Limp Bizkit comes from. Some attribute this to Durst’s limping dog Bizkit, while others point to the masturbation game of the same name.

Elsewhere, he said in a Reddit AMA, “I wanted it to fly off the tongues with Led Zeppelin, but it’s so weird it would be hard to forget. I remember things like Gimp Disco, Split Dickslit, Bitch Piglet, and somehow… Blood Fart. Also, we never really took our name or our purpose seriously, considering the chances of it being successful at that point were slim to none.”
One user from the language-learning app and Q&A community summed up his own version of the weird masturbation game: “The name of the band Limp Bizkit refers to a game in which a group of men stand in a circle and place a biscuit in the middle of the circle.” It continues: “The group begins masturbating at the same time, and the object of the game is to masturbate to orgasm as quickly as possible and make sure you ejaculate directly on the biscuit.” It is concluded that the person who ejaculates last loses the game and must eat the soggy biscuit.
However, Durst had previously explained that the name had no meaning and was only meant to polarize. “The name is there to divert people’s minds. A lot of people pick up the disc and say, ‘Limp Bizkit. Oh, they must suck.’ These are people we don’t even want listening to our music,” reports news outlet American Songwriter.
