Lionesses to host Ukraine at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium

The Lionesses will become the first England team to play at Everton’s new stadium when they host Ukraine in a Women’s World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, June 9.
Hill Dickinson Stadium, which opened last summer, is one of the stadiums hosting Euro 2028 and is on England’s bid list for the 2035 Women’s World Cup.
Scotland will also face Ivory Coast at the stadium on March 31 in preparation for this summer’s men’s World Cup.
Sarina Wiegman’s two-time European champions are competing to qualify for the 2027 Women’s World Cup and are in a qualifying group with Spain, Ukraine and Iceland.
They will face Ukraine in Türkiye on Tuesday, March 3 (17:00) and welcome Iceland to the City Ground on Saturday, March 7 (12:30).
Their first match against the last champion, Spain, whom they defeated in the Euro 2025 final, will take place on April 14 at Wembley Stadium.
“It is very exciting for us to play in Everton’s new stadium for the first time,” Wiegman said.
“We’ve always said it’s very important to take this team around the country and we’re really looking forward to playing in front of fans in the north-west.
“The city of Liverpool has a rich football history with many links to the Lionesses over the years, so it will be a very special evening.”
