Congress Appoints Ganesh Godiyal as Chief of Its Uttarakhand Unit

New Delhi: The Congress on Tuesday appointed Ganesh Godiyal as president of its Uttarakhand unit with immediate effect, replacing Karan Mahara. A party statement said Mahara was appointed as a special invitee to the Congress Working Committee and his contributions as state unit chief were appreciated.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also appointed chairmen to the campaign committee and election management committee of the party’s Uttarakhand unit.
Pritam Singh was appointed as the chairman of the campaign committee, while Harak Singh Rawat was appointed as the chairman of the election management committee.
Kharge also appointed presidents of the Uttarakhand District Congress Committees.
“These appointments are being made as part of the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan. Under this initiative, AICC observers appointed in each district conducted detailed investigations, interacted with party functionaries and other stakeholders and submitted their comprehensive reports,” the party said. he said.
It was stated that after these reports were presented, one-on-one meetings were held with each observer and senior leaders.
