The Los Angeles Chargers put on a show for their fans, defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers and earning a 25-10 win on “Sunday Night Football.”

Los Angeles improved to 7-3 on the season and 4-2 at home, while the Steelers fell to 5-4.

This game was a defensive battle on both ends, but it was clear that the Chargers were not going to let Aaron Rodgers relax. They held him to just 16-of-31 passing for 161 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.

Meanwhile, Justin Herbert was taking a hard hit in his own pocket, as the Chargers were still working the offensive line with Joe Alt and Rashawn Slater, both of whom were their starting tackles from the start of the season. Herbert was sacked five times by the Steelers, including one by TJ Watt because he came only half a sack close to his older brother JJ Watt’s career total (114.5).

But Herbert was still the better quarterback in this game, as he threw a touchdown pass for TKTK to his leading receiver Ladd McConkey with just 12 seconds left in the first half.

McConkey caught only four passes, but completed 107 yards after one of those passes went 58 yards.

McConkey’s 58-yard catch-and-run also set up Kimani Vidal for a touchdown; Kimani Vidal certainly helped Herbert a bit with his successful running game that kept the Steelers’ defense honest. Vidal finished the race with 95 yards on 25 carries.

Aaron Rodgers' safety vs. Chargers

Rodgers finally managed to find the end zone late in the fourth quarter, as Roman Wilson took a 27-yard slant into the end zone to make it 25-10. However, Keenan Allen secured the onside kick, which ended Pittsburgh’s chance at a miracle.

Rodgers faced pressure from the Chargers front throughout the night; That pressure includes fumbling in his own end zone and only recovering the ball for safety rather than scoring a chance goal.

With Pittsburgh’s loss, an interesting outlook emerged in the AFC North; The Baltimore Ravens have won three straight games after defeating the Minnesota Vikings on the road earlier Sunday. They are 4-5, just one game behind the Steelers, and will see each other for the first time on December 7th.

Another interesting piece of information in this game is that Allen had the most points in Chargers history with 956 points in the last Chargers drive. Legendary tight end Antonio Gates, who was on hand to watch Sunday night, was the man Allen walked past at the reception.
