London nursery worker convicted of child sexual abuse faces 15 more charges | UK news

A nursery worker found guilty of dozens of sexual assaults on children left in his care has been charged with a further 15 offences.

Vincent Chan, 45, previously pleaded guilty to 26 offenses between 2022 and 2024, including charges of sexually assaulting four girls aged two to four at the North London nursery where he worked and offenses relating to more than 25,000 indecent photographs of children.

His crimes took place at a now-closed children’s home in West Hampstead run by Bright Horizons. He is now charged with a further 15 offences, predating the crimes for which he was convicted, relating to possession of indecent images of children and acts outraging public decency.

The new charges relate to incidents that did not occur in the same location as his previous crimes. These include taking an indecent photograph or false photograph of a child, including the most severe category, and six counts of outraging public decency. The charges relate to nine girls.

Chan, of Finchley, remains in custody awaiting sentencing due to previous convictions. These included five counts of sexual assault by penetration on a child aged two to four, four counts of sexual assault, 11 counts of taking indecent photographs and six counts of making indecent images of children.

Police investigation continues.
