What is the Finance Bill?
The Finance Bill is an important step in the implementation of the government’s 2026-27 budget. The bill provides legal support for the fiscal and tax measures announced in the annual budget.

What are the basic budget recommendations?
The Core Budget 2026-27 proposals included a special focus on stimulating growth, creating jobs and promoting inclusive development.
It emphasizes capital expenditure-led expansion for infrastructure and private investments, employment and skill development initiatives like Yuvashakti, and support to MSMEs through loans and incentives. Manufacturing, industry and agriculture will benefit from production-linked schemes, industrial corridors, irrigation and rural infrastructure. The budget also prioritizes green energy, digital governance, urban development and connectivity, as well as human capital development in education, health and nutrition. Inclusive growth and social protection are strengthened through social assistance programmes, direct benefit transfers and support for vulnerable populations. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also introduced the Companies Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026 in the Lok Sabha, which aims to amend key provisions of the Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008 and the Companies Act, 2013.
