FIR against Rajasthan MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati for threatening folk singer Rawna

“A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against independent MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati and five others for allegedly threatening folk singer Chotu Singh Rawna and insulting the women of his family,” police said in a statement on Thursday, April 2, 2026. he said.
Mr. Rawna filed an FIR against Sheo MLA and five others following an argument over a comment on social media.
The dispute arose after the singer commented on a social media post in which Bhati allegedly ignored the plea of a child cancer patient.
The singer shared a post in Hindi: “If [child] If you were a real star then all the leaders would be on your side.” Mr. Rawna claimed that after this comment, Mr. Bhati called him and threatened him.
The FIR alleged that when the row escalated, Mr. Bhati’s supporters made derogatory remarks about the singer’s family and women on social media.
“FIR registered on Wednesday [April 1, 2026] As per Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Section 351 (2) (3) and 79. The case is being sent to CID-CB for investigation,” Satya Prakash, SHO of Sheo police station, said on Thursday, April 2, 2026. He said a pen drive and some documents were submitted along with the complaint.
After the controversy escalated, representatives of the singer community submitted memorandums to the district administration against the MLA. The MLA could not be reached for comments.
