Marcus Johnson says he is upset for hundreds of people who cannot claim

A decision made by the most senior judges of the UK then had the opportunity to claim compensation for the incorrect sale of millions of drivers.

The Supreme Court decided not to maintain a previous decision, which found that the payments of secret commission to automobile dealers were illegal.

However, the decision left the possibility of compensation requests for unfair great commissions.

The BBC spoke with two people who brought the case to the high court and a person who plans to make a claim.

‘A really big salt bag’

Torfaen, Marcus Johnson of Cwmbran, was one of the plaintiffs in the turning point.

Although he was given a little more than £ 1,650 on the grounds that his relationship with the loan was unfair, he described the result as a “painful pill to swallow”.

Marcus said, “He is pleased with myself, but not for hundreds of people to miss now,” Marcus said.

“Weird,” he said. “This is a gain, but to go with it is really a great salt bag”.

When he bought a blue Suzuki Swift in 2017, he was 27 years old and did not know that the commission was paid, although he said he had signed a lending document.

Shortly after passing the driving test in June of that year, he entered a car dealer and driving in a car in an hour, “very excited”.

Years later, he realized that the car still had almost a cash price for three years when he paid the financing in the car.

At that time he decided to communicate with lawyers.

If the three plaintiffs had won the test cases, those who lends for a total of £ 30 billion compensation requests could have opened.

According to the accounting and recommendation company BDO, this invoice may drop between £ 5 billion to £ 13 billion.

‘There is still meat in the bone’

Andrew Wench is described as “a passionate postman for fast cars”.

He says that this statement “giggling me”. He was found in other positions before he became an old 61-year-old forces and at the same time, but he is proud of his description of “Stoke-On-Trent as Erin Brockovich”.

He said that Marcus was pleased with the compensation and he was pleased that there would be other claims arising from this decision.

“There is still meat in the bone,” he says, although his case is not successful, he is happy to help to throw light to the subject, he added.

“I just want people to be able to account and I don’t want them to get rid of deceptive and fraud.” He continued: “Everything comes: Honesty is the best policy.”

Andrew’s lawyer, one of the consumer rights lawyers, Kavon Hussain said that the decision was a “mixed bag”, but the high court expects the automobile vendors to “always move in their own interests” and people should not expect a good agreement.

‘I will chase my claim’

Jemma Caffrey says he is “sad” for people who no longer claim, but he plans to continue his case.

Although there is a mixed result for the plaintiffs in the case, some people are determined to receive compensation.

Some dealers have been paid a greater commission if they sell a higher interest rate on the loan.

They were known as optional commission regulations (DCAS) and banned by regulators in 2021.

Jemma Caffrey from Blackburn bought a car in 2009 after birth leave. His son was born with certain medical needs and asked for a car and more than one doctor’s appointment to start work.

Im I will continue my claim, but I feel for the people he’s standing, or he says. “They will not be compensated and I find it quite sad.”

Jemma thinks that he has benefited as a vulnerable new mother. ” He trusted to give the car dealer the best deal and paid a high interest rate for the Blue Corsa, which he called “Colin”.

Until years later, he had studied in the local press about car financing, and went to a law firm to request a right.

Now he plans to follow him.
