Christian student muted in Arkansas online class for sharing faith

According to the religious freedom law group, a high school student became silent and started a Zoom session after sharing the Christian faith during his school’s daily “social clock”.
On September 23, Zion Ramos, who was young at the Arkansas Connections Academy (Arca), an online public school, participated in his class 30 -minute social session in Zoom.
According to the First Liberty Institute, the legal group of religious freedom, the students are allowed to talk about what they want unless comments are severe, rude or obscene.
Ramos decided to share a two -minute statement about his faith, inspired by the Charlie Kirk commemoration ceremony two days ago.

The first Liberty said that Ramos’ teacher Kelsey Reid silenced him and took him out of the call.
Reid said that Ramos did not object to the content of his message, but that the short session did not “allow all students to use it as a speaking platform” and objected to the way he delivered it. Instead, he suggested to use the chat function.
The first Liberty claims that students in Arca have been allowed to argue without being silent, including current events, personal relationships and problems related to LGBTQ.
