LPG shortage crisis: T.N. CM Stalin urges PM Modi for necessary alternative arrangements

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, chaired a meeting at the Secretariat in Chennai to assess the possible impact of the ongoing US-Iran conflict on Tamil Nadu and determine necessary response measures. He also wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the coup. Mr. Stalin also sought necessary alternative arrangements due to shortage of LPG cylinders.

On social media, Mr Stalin said he had written to Mr Modi urging the Union government to ensure the safety of Tamils ​​living in the affected Gulf states and safeguard the welfare of Tamil Nadu fishermen currently stranded in the region.

“I also emphasized that the Union Government should ensure that the shortage of LPG Cylinders arising from this conflict does not affect the public, commercial establishments or MSME industries in Tamil Nadu. I also requested that all necessary alternative arrangements be made for restaurants affected by the shortage of commercial gas cylinders and the required additional power be procured and provided.”
