Luxury yachts sunk in marina fire at Mosman, Sydney

A fire at a marina in an affluent suburb of Sydney has likely caused millions of dollars in damage after several luxury ships and superyachts sank.
Fire crews are trying to extinguish a fire that broke out at Spit Bridge Marina in Mosman at around 3.30am on Friday morning.
In the fire, 3 luxury yachts became unusable and began to sink into the water.
A fourth ship is thought to have also hit.
Fire crews said the damage could have been much worse.

“We managed to stop the fire from spreading to dozens of boats at this marina. Great job by NSW Fire and Rescue,” Inspector Adam Dewberry told Sunrise.
“Now we need to control all the oil and fuel on these boats.
“Our hazardous materials teams (and) the Port Authority are on scene, we will get this under control quickly.”
Inspector Dewberry said rescue efforts would take “some time”.
4 people were affected by smoke due to the fire.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
More to come.
