M11 traffic LIVE: Motorway near Stansted Airport shuts down | UK | News

Commuters and travelers alike faced major traffic problems as a busy motorway was closed near Stansted Airport on Thursday morning. The closure of the M11 southbound near the air hub has caused queues to form up to the J13 junction.

The reason for the closure was not immediately clear. In a statement, Cambridgeshire Police said: “Please note that due to the temporary full closure of the M11 near Stansted Airport, this has caused significant delays on the southbound carriageway to junction 13. Lane 2 will remain closed until further notice, which will likely impact journeys on the M11 this morning.” There were also planned closures that contributed to congestion.
