To avoid road closures, drivers have been told to obey the hollow circle diversion symbol.

The route will take people south from junction 13 of the M6 ​​motorway onto the A449.

Follow the A449 to the A5 junction at Gailey and then follow the A5 eastwards.

Continue on the A5 before rejoining the M6 ​​at junction 12.

Travelers should be warned that there is heavy traffic on some parts of the diversion, including the A449.

A National Highways spokesman added: “If this closure affects your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.”
