Madhya Pradesh High Court notice to State govt. over recently notified promotion rules

The Supreme Court of Madhya Pradesh issued a notification to the government government about the promotion of government employees reported last month.

On Monday, July 7, 2025, a chapter of Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf, Madhya Pradesh Public Service Promotion Rules, published a group of petitions presented by various government employees who challenged the constitutional legislation of 2025.

On June 17, the State Government said that Prime Minister Mohan Yadav was taken into consideration when frame the rules of the interests of employees from all categories, including planned castes and planned tribes.

The petitions also wanted to stay temporarily in the rules.

However, the court called the government’s reaction and asked him to resolve his attitude on the subject before the next hearing planned on July 15th.

The court also asked the government to clarify the differences between new rules and existing rules reported in 2002.

The provisions under new rules include 20% reservation for ST for ST and 16% for SC communities, while employees of both communities will be suitable for merit -based promotions.

More than one petition, the reservation in the 2002 rules, the issue of reservation is currently waiting in the high court, stating that the reservation in the new rules challenged.

Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya made a briefing to the media regarding the decision taken at a cabinet meeting and said that the rules were given to the legal department of the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court after consultation with the legal department of various decisions, so that the promotion process did not encounter legal obstacles.
