Morrissey cancels Valencia concert due to sleep deprivation from noise

British rock star Morrissey canceled his concert in Spain for a very familiar reason.
On Thursday, Morrissey shared a statement regarding the following: his website He said his planned show in Valencia was canceled “due to lack of sleep”.
According to the statement, the musician came from Milan but “could not rest in Valencia due to noise.” His “loud techno singing (and) megaphone announcements” made it impossible for him to get a good night’s sleep.

“This experience left Morrissey in a catatonic state,” the statement said.
The Las Fallas festival in Valencia is a five-day spectacle usually held from March 15 to 19, symbolizing the beginning of spring with large artistic sculptures. The works are displayed throughout the city before being burned in a dramatic finale known as La Cremà.
In Morrissey’s statement, it was emphasized in bold letters that “the show has not been cancelled. Conditions make the show impossible.” It is not yet known whether ticket holders will receive a refund.

The musician described his hotel in Plaza Manises as “an indescribable hell”. It will take me a year to recover. And that’s an understatement.”
On Thursday, the Spanish Embassy in the UK shared a video of the Las Fallas festivities.
The statement said, “The Fallas festival in Valencia has started and we have suffered our first casualties. Morrissey canceled his show because he couldn’t sleep.” The statement was included. “Fallas is noise, fireworks… and a light that never goes out! Enjoy today’s mascletá!”
