It’s ‘one of the best career decisions’

I can seem quite unusual for most people: usually every Wednesday captures a flight from Los Angeles to San Francisco at 7 in the morning and I fly home in the direction every Friday night.

I never planned to be a super commission. However, an unexpected conversation turned into a job offer and I found myself dividing myself between the two cities.

I live in Los Angeles, but I lead to sales and marketing as the President of GTM (Go to Sunday) in AI initiative imagine. In addition to two flights, it consists of too many Ubers and 4:30 am alarms when I go to work weekly.

However, in a year, my super command, which starts as exhausting – and to be honest, I can say that it has become one of the best career decisions I have made.

I chose this way and what I learned from it.

I had to be in the room

The biggest driver behind my decision was access. San Francisco’s AI scene has a builder, thinker and informal speeches that Los Angeles cannot match.

Nowadays, it is easy to underestimate the power of closeness, but being in the room changes everything. You meet one of a panel, then you get coffee and suddenly you are part of the conversation.

That’s how I started this role. I have connected with someone in San Francisco on a common interest in search engine optimization (SEO), which is the process of adaptation to access more users through search. After a few conversations, “Is it crazy if we bring you?” They said. I didn’t have a sales history, but I said yes, and I got it.

Such doors are usually not opened on zoom. The last three roles I downloaded came from face -to -face interactions.

I didn’t want to give up what both cities could offer, so I chose both.

I wasn’t willing to choose between ambition and roots

San Francisco offered the chance to step into a bigger role. I lead our efforts to go to the market in Daydream. It’s a high -betting, fast -paced job that pushes me to learn me all the time.

But Los Angeles at home. My family is here. My closest friends are, some of them since 2nd grade. This is the place where I feel and feel like me again, like myself again, around dance lessons, quiet walks or people who know me beyond my business title.

Supercommuting means weekly flights, San Francisco returns to Los Angeles on Wednesday mornings and Friday nights.

In addition, my personal finance coaching work is my work, Do goodEvenings and weekends. I started after creating a money management system to overcome my own financial concern, and now we help others to do the same.

It is tiring to make a business and a full-time business, and it helps me to be grounded and motivated to continue the hustle and bustle of my description system and oldest customers.

I didn’t want to give up what both cities could offer, so I chose both, even though it meant living from a suitcase.

I worn out short -term discomfort for long -term growth

I still balance bags, jumping flights and multiple projects, but now it sounds like a momentum, not chaos.

I started to remind myself why I did this every morning: raising my career and taking greater responsibilities that force me to grow. The discomfort was not a sign to resign. It was part of the process. In the end, it was proof that I created my skills, expanded my network, gained confidence and opened new doors to myself.

A year to go and go to this job, things are finally clicking. I still balance bags, jumping flights and multiple projects, but now it sounds like a momentum, not chaos. I founded deeper relationships, shone in my new role, and I was attached to my favorite life in Los Angeles.

Some opportunities are won in this way – even if it means flying five hours to do this, it occurs over and over again.
