Major update after man killed, several hospitalised in suspected gas leak at Sydney restaurant

Secure work NSW, a 25 -year -old man in a restaurant in northwest of Sydney, continues to investigate after the gas leakage.

Emergency services were called to the Haveli Indian Restaurant in Garfield RD in Riverstone at 9.15 after a gas leak reports.

25 -year -old died at the scene and six other people were taken to hospital.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner Gavin Wood said the man was unresponsive by officers trying to revive him at the scene.

The police believe that the 25 -year -old child is working at the restaurant at the time of the incident.

Another member of the people and five police officers were taken to hospital in a stable situation.

The NSW police told Newswire that “everyone, including the police, was discharged from the hospital” in the afternoon.

“Five police officers interested in CPR and the first part of the process was extremely brave,” the commissioner Wood said.

“They were taken to the (Hospital) (Hospital), all of which are now seen or as a result of the smell found in the restaurant area.”

He described the event as “tragedy ..

“We are dealing with a tragedy here-15-year-old young man died,” he said.

Fire and rescue NSW manager Adam Dewberry said the people in the restaurant “overcome the gas”.

“Some of these people seem to have been affected by carbon monoxide poisoning,” he said.

BlackTown Assembly Member Moninder Singh said it was “shock, and announced that he had just had dinner in the restaurant lately.

“Very tragic, I visited only two weeks ago,” he said.

“This is a young family. They were very nice people and business. There are too many community support.

“We were all shocked.”

The investigation into the incident continues.
