Local officials, at least eight Palestinians, most children were killed, and more than a dozen injured in the center of the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army said it aims to hit an Islamic jihad militant in the region, but a fault caused the missile to fall “dozens of meters from the target”.

The war began on October 7, 2023 when the militants led by Hamas attacked Israel, killed about 1200 people and took 251 hostages to the Gaza Strip.

At least 20 of the remaining 50 hostages are still alive.

Israel’s campaign against Hamas has displaced the entire population of more than two million people, but says that it is not safe anywhere in the coastal coastal settlement.

Early on Sunday morning, a missile hit a house where a family in Gaza was receiving a evacuation order from their homes on the southern skirts of a family.

“My aunt, her husband and children went. What is the mistake of children who died in a dawn in an ugly bloody massacre?” Anas Matar said, standing in the rubble of the building.

“They came here and they were shot. There is no safe place in Gaza,” he said.
