Throughout my career, whenever I moved to a new job, you can see that I never worked with a team. This is bad practice. I always said that there is a team and this team builds the company. There is a lot of institutional memory that should not be lost. Having said this, we need to think about what the future will bring. When Uday started the company, there was a group of people around his age who had grown up with him. Now they are close to retirement, they have worked hard, they have done very good things and they say, “Let me at least get this much fruit of my labor.” In this sense, when people came to retire, we said okay, okay, go ahead and retire. My goal is to create a younger, leaner, hungrier Kotak. When it comes to times like retirement, we say let’s move on.
