The price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) or jet fuel more than doubled to a record ₹2.07 lakh per kiloliter on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, while commercial LPG rates were increased by ₹195.50 per cylinder; This reflects the rise in global oil prices linked to the widening West Asian conflict.

According to state-owned fuel retailers, ATF price in Delhi has increased by ₹1,10,703.08 per kilolitre or 114.5% to ₹2,07,341.22 per kl.
This is the first time that ATF prices crossed the ₹2 lakh per kl mark. The previous peak was in 2022, when rates were increased by ₹ 1.1 lakh per kilo after oil prices rose after Russia invaded Ukraine.

This is the second monthly increase in interest rates. On March 1, prices were increased by 5.7% (₹5,244.75 per kl).
Rising prices will further challenge airlines, which are already burning more fuel to use longer routes to fly to western destinations due to war-related airspace closures. Fuel accounts for approximately 40% of an airline’s operating costs.
Besides this, commercial LPG prices used by hotels and restaurants have also been increased by ₹ 195.50 per 19 kg cylinder.
The price of 19 kg commercial LPG is currently ₹ 2,078.50 in Delhi. The rates were last increased by ₹114.5 per 19 kg cylinder on March 1.
Domestic cooking gas LPG prices, which were last increased by ₹60 per 14.2 kg cylinder on March 7, remain unchanged. It costs ₹913 per cylinder of 14.2 kg in Delhi.
State-owned Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum revise ATF and LPG prices on the first day of every month based on international benchmarks and exchange rate.
Global oil prices rose almost 50% after war in West Asia disrupted energy supply chains.
Petrol and diesel prices remain frozen after a drop of ₹2 per liter in March last year; Petrol is currently priced at ₹94.72 per liter in Delhi, while diesel is priced at ₹87.62.
