Ernest in the line of succession

While Ernest is unlikely to become a working royal in the future, his mother is not taking on that role, he is still in the line of succession. Currently, Ernest is 14th in line to the throne, along with his older brother (August 13) and mother Eugenie (12).

Ernest’s name was chosen with care

While baby names are of course important and require a lot of thought, Ernest’s name is especially special to the family. That’s because, at birth, Eugenie revealed that her full name was a reference to a number of important relatives. After his birth, she said: “I wanted to share the news that we welcomed our little boy, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, on May 30, 2023, measuring 8.49 meters tall, weighing 7.1 lbs. He is named after his great-great-grandfather George, his grandfather George and my grandfather Ronald.”
